Risk of Failure

Every commercial development carries risk of failure. Residents of this part of the San Gabriel Valley see businesses close with alarming regularity.

Any development at BKK will have to be maintained – whether or not it’s financially successful.

Securing and maintaining everything – all the buildings, roads, water supply for firefighting, preventing homeless encampments…someone will have to pay for that.  No guarantees have been provided this will not be the residents of West Covina should Singpoli's proposed development fail.

Today BKK is open space and nature is reclaiming it.  The parties that used the dump pay for its maintenance.  In addition, taxes are levied by the City of West Covina on nearby property owners for other maintenance (budget fund #183 in the City’s budget).
